Benefits of Fiberglass Flagpoles
There are many reasons why fiberglass flagpoles are preferable to other fabrication materials, including aluminum. Whereas other materials can corrode, oxidize, rust, pit, rot and discolor over time, fiberglass by its nature is resistant to all of these issues. Fiberglass flagpoles are also non-conductive and do not attract lightning. Finally, an often overlooked benefit of fiberglass is that they are quiet – they do not create a pinging sound from the halyard on windy days as aluminum does. While white is the most common finish, Zeus Flagpoles come in a variety of colors and finishes. Standard colors are white, black, bronze and dynamic bronze We even have a standard “Faux-luminum” finish which mimics an aluminum pole, if that is your preference.

SPECFICATIONS: Fiberglass Reinforced Composite (FRC) Ground set flagpole
The Zeus Poseidon Nautical flagpoles range from 25 feet tall to 60', The Flagpole pole weighs, depending on height, approximately 89 to 650 lbs with the yardarm. The yardarm length range from 6.5 feet long to 16 feet, The yardarms are made from fiberglass woven roving and polyester resin, with 75% of the reinforcing fibers oriented in the axial plane for maximum stiffness and 25% in the radial plane for necessary hoop strength. The pole is designed with a two-to-one (2:1) safety factor for 150 mph winds, unflagged, with a 1.3 gust factor, following AASHTO and NAAMM standards. It has an Entasis taper and no mold seams. The flagpole is sanded smooth and coated with a high gloss Aliphatic Polyurea coating system which provides extended UV protection and weatherability.

The flagpole shall be equipped with Zeus standard fittings:
- A gold anodized aluminum ball - Sized to the flagpole base
- 3 - 8" aluminum powder coated cleats - a composite matching flash collar
- Stainless steel swivel snaps with vinyl covers.
- External double sheave stationary fiberglass truck. Revolving Truck on the 50' and 60' - fiberglass ground sleeve.
- The yardarm shall be equipped with:
- Yardarm bracket powder coated to match color of pole (2-piece bracket)
- Stainless steel yardarm pulleys and eye bolts
- #10 polyester halyards (one for each side of yardarm)
- Powder coated aluminum cleats (one for each side of yardarm)
- Stainless steel swivel snaps with vinyl covers (two per side of yardarm)
